아울러 알바생 38.4%는 단기 알바보다 장기 알바를 선호한다고 답했습니다. 이들이 장기 알바를 선호하는 이유 중에는 ‘오래 일할수록 일이 능숙해 일이 점점 편해지기 때문’이라는 답변이 78.6%(응답률)로 가장 높았습니다.
이어 △일할 때 실수가 적어지고 문제가 발생해도 해결 능력이 높아지는 것(47.4%)이 장기 알바를 선호하는 이유라는 답변이 다군자노래방알바음으로 높았습니다. ‘어차피 알바를 해야 해서 새로 알바 구직하는 것보다 낫다고 생각하기 때문에’ 장기 알바를 선호한다는 알바생도 34.2%였습니다.
알바천국이 모바일 앱을 통해 근무 시간이 하루 5시간 미만인 아르바이트 공고만 모은 ‘단시간 알바 채용관’을 선보였다.
16일 알바천국에 따르면 단시간 알바 채용관에서는 근무 기간과 관계없이 하루 근무 시간이 5시간 미만인 공고를 한눈에 만나볼 수 있다.
먼저 ‘1시간’부터 ‘5시간’까지 근무 시간 분류를 상단 탭에 배치해 편의성을 높였다. 시간별 탭 클릭 시 하루 근무 시간이 선택한 시간대에 해당하는 공고를 확인할 수 있다.
‘하루에 1시간’ 등 공고별 근무 시간도 공고 리스트에 직관적으로 표기해, 일일이 공고를 클릭하지 않아도 원하는 근무 시간에 맞는 공고를 손쉽게 탐색할 수 있다.
기존 ‘단기 알바’ 채용관에서는 공릉노래방알바근무 기간 ‘1일’부터 ‘1개월’ 이내의 아르바이트 공고 확인이 가능하다. 근무 시작 및 종료 가능일 설정 기능도 추가돼, 원하는 기간에 맞는 단기 알바 구직에 용이하다.
알바천국 관계자는 “근무 기간이 짧은 단기 알바와 더불어 하루에 근무하는 시간이 짧은 단시간 알바에 대한 구직 니즈도 높은 것으로 파악했다”며 “앞으로도 구직자들이 원하는 공고를 쉽고 빠르게 찾을 수 있도록 관련 서비스 고도화를 지속할 계획”이라고 전했다.
아가고 싶어도 돌아갈 곳이 없어요. 여기서 어떻게든 살 궁리를 해야죠.”
23일 오전 광주 광산구 월산동 고려인종합지원센터에는 평소 혈압이 높아 건강진단서 문제로 상담을 받으러 온 김 막심씨(41)는 비자 문제로 속앓이를 하고 있었다.
김 씨는 지난 2013년부터 9년 동안 H2 비자(방문 취업)를 받고 국내 한 태양광 설치 업체서 근무하고 있다.
김 씨가 발급받은 H2 비자는 3년마다 본국으로 돌아가야만 재발급이 가능하다.
그러나 니콜라예프시는 거주했던 집을 포함해 도심 대부분이 폭격으로 인해 폐허로 변한지 오래다.
더욱이 지난해 어머니가 병으로 돌아가신 후 우크라이나에는 더 이상 친족이 머무를 곳도 없게 됐다.
김 씨는 “우크라이나에 돌아갈 곳도, 머무를 곳도 없지만 비자 연장을 위해서는 3년에 한 번씩 우크라이나로 복귀해야 한다”며 “F4 비자(재외동포)를 취득하고 싶어도, 조건이 까다롭기 때문에 쉽지 않다. 비자 연장을 위해 안전하게 머무를 곳만 있으면 좋겠다”고 토로했다.
법무부 출입국·외국인정책본상봉노래방알바부와 광주 고려인마을에 따르면 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁이 발발한 후 지난 1년간 (2022년 2월 24일~2023년 1월 31일) 6,234명의 우크라이나 국적자가 입국했다. 이 중 광주 고려인마을에만 875명이 이주했다.
하지만, 서툰 한국말 때문에 겪는 생활고는 물론 제도적 보호장치도 이들을 외면하고 있다. 가장 큰 문제는 건강보험 규정상 가입 자격이다. 외국인들의 경우 6개월 이상 국내에 체류해야만 건강보험 자격이 주어지기 때문에 당장 주거 문제를 해결해야 하는 상황에서 수술 비용 등 목돈 마련은 현실적으로 쉽지 않다.
광주 고려인마을 어린이집 교사 안 예레나씨(40)는 “지난해 4월 고려인마을에서 비행기 값과 어머니의 수술 비용 등을 지원해잠실노래방알바 줬는데, 최근 고려인들이 증가하면서 비용 문제로 치료를 받지 못하는 사람도 늘고 있다”며 “오랜 피란 생활 등으로 질병을 앓는 사람이 많아져서 걱정이다”고 말했다.
고려인들의 구직 활동도 쉽지 않다.
대부분의 제조업이나 건설업 등의 기업은 몸을 쓰는 남성을 선호하지만, 고려인마을에 정착한 875명의 피란민 중 남성은 332명(38%) 뿐이다.
특히, 가족 단위의 피란민이 많기 때문에 미성년자와 노인을 제외하면 인력은 더욱 줄어든다.
피란민들이 발급받은 비자 또한 취업에 발목을 잡는다.
피란민들 중 일부가 받은 H2 비자는 국내에서는 연장이 불가능하다. 또 취업시 제조업·건설업·농축산어업 등 일부 업종에만 한정된다.
신조야 광주 고려인마을 대표는 “고려인들은 대부분 일용직에서 근무하며, 농업과 단기 알바 등으로 근근히 버티고 있다”며 “예산이 부족해 교육과 치료 등을 받지 못하는 경우가 생기는 것이 아쉽다. 비자 문제 등이 해결돼 안정된 정착이 가능할 수 있길 바란다”고 말했다.
지난 2021년부터 배달 라이더 생활을 해오던 김모(30)씨는 최근 수입이 급감하면서 소속된 배달대행 업체에 그만 두겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다. 오토바이가 위험하다는 부모님이나 여자친구 만류에도 월 평균 400만원 이상구리노래방알바의 수입을 거둘 수 있어 선택한 직업이었는데 요즘 콜(call)수가 바닥을 치며 무리를 해야만 평소 벌던 대로 벌 수 있는 상황이라서다.
단기 쿠팡 물류 알바를 지원한 대학생 이모(22)씨는 최근 또 다시 탈락 통보를 받았다. 벌써 4번째 탈락이다. 쿠팡이나 마켓컬리 물류센터와 같은 단기 알바 일자리는 공고가 나는 빈도수가 예전보다 줄었지만 지원자는 넘쳐 합격이 ‘하늘에 별따기’다. 이씨는 “예전처럼 쿠팡 알바가 지원만 하면 무조건 할 수 있는 일이 아니다”라면서 “선착순 마감인데 바로 접속해서 지원해도 계속 떨어지고 있다”고 말했다.
코로나19로 침체된 고용을 지탱하던 쿠팡이나 배민발(發) 고용 풍선효과가 지난해 사회적 거리두기가 해제된 이후 점차 사라지며 고용시장이 얼어붙고 있다. 비대면으로 호황을 누렸던 배달이나 온라인 쇼핑 인기가 예전보다 떨어지면서 관련 고용도 줄어드는 모양새다. 시간 대비 고수익을 누릴 수 있었던 장점이 희미해지면서 임시 일자리보다는 상용직을 선호하는 풍조도 반영됐다.
21일 통계청의 1월 고용동향을 분석한 결과, 대면활동 정상화에 따라 배달라이더, 쿠팡 물류직 등이 포함된 운수창고업의 취업자 수는 전월 대비 2만6000명 감소했다. 작년 같은 기간과 비교하면 5만1000명이 줄어 감소폭이 더 크다. 이 업종 취업자 수는 코로나 기간 2020년 12월부터 2022년 10월까지 23개월 연속 전년 동월 대비 증가했다가 2022년 11월(-1만2000명)부터 감소 전환해, 이제 전체 취업자 수 증가 폭 둔화를 이끌고 있다.
MZ세대(밀레니얼+Z세대)가 선호하는 ‘긱(gig, 임시로 할 수 있는 일) 일자리’의 대표적인 두 분야가 침체되면서 같은 달 20대 취업자 수도 전년 동기 대비 4만3000명 감소했다. 종사상 지위별로 봐도 임시·일용직이 감소세를 보였다. 임시근로자와 일용근로자는 각각 5만2000명, 7만명 줄었다.
코로나19로 인한 비대면 특수를 누리던 배달앱은 지난해 사회적 거리두기가 해제되면서 위기를 맞았다. 소비자 이탈로 수입이 줄자 라이더들도 감소세다. 통계청이 이달 발표한 온라인쇼핑동향에 따르면 지난해 11월 음식서비스 거래액은 2조232억원으로 전년 동기 대비 2.3% 감소했다. 음식서비스 거래액은 지난해 7월부터 5개월 연속 감소세다.
배달업은 사회적 거리두기가 시행되던 시기 불황을 겪는 인력을 흡수하던 ‘블랙홀’이었지만 업계에서는 슬슬 정상화가 되고 있다고 보고 있다. 배달 업계에는 배달 콜이 사망했다는 의미의 ‘콜사(call+死)’라는 신조어가 만들어졌고, 중고거래 시장에는 오토바이 매물이 쏟아진다. 서울 은평구에서 배달대행업체를 운영하는 박모(41)씨는 “예전엔 개나 소나 배달로 돈을 벌 수 있었다면 이젠 그렇게 쉽지가 않다”면서 “균형을 찾아가는 과정”이라고 말했다.
난 2020년과 2021년 국내 기업 중 순고용(국민연금 취득자 수-상실자 수) 증가 규모가 가장 컸던 쿠팡은 지난해엔 최하위를 기록했다. 국내 매출 상위 500대 기업 중 460대 기업을 대상으로 한 조사 결과에서 쿠팡의 순고용 감소폭(-4903명)이 가장 컸다. 경기 침체에 따른 소비 부진과 사회적 거리두기 해제에 따른 온라인 소비 감소 등이 고용 감소에 영향을 미쳤을 것으로 분석된다.
쿠팡뿐만 아니라 물류센터 등에 초단기 아르바이트 수요가 몰린 쿠팡(-4903명), 이마트(-1174명), 롯데쇼핑(-1029명) 등 유통기업의 순고용은 줄었다. 단시간 근로자라 할지라도 사업장에 고용된 날부터 한달간 월 8일 이상, 월 60시간 이상 일하면 국민연금 가입자 통계에 잡힌다.
일회성 물류센터 일자리가 줄어들면서 쿠팡이나 마켓컬리 등 일회성 일자리 구하기는 ‘수강신청급 경쟁’이 됐다. 특히 물류센터 위치가 인구 밀집지역 인근일 경우에는 경쟁률이 10대 1 이상으로 올라가기도 한다. 유통업계 관계자는 “물류센터 등 유통업계 단기 일자리는 코로나로 경제적으로 어려움에 봉착한 사람들에게 한동안 사회적 버팀목이 됐다”며 “엔데믹 과정에 따른 경제활동 재개 이후 차츰 안정화된 고용시장, 글로벌 물가 폭등과 맞물린 소비 침체 등이 최근 유통업계의 고용 추세에 영향을 미쳤다”고 말했다.
쿠팡의 고용 규모는 향후 물류센터 자동화 흐름에 따라 더 감소할 수 있다는 전망도 나온다. 최근 로봇 등을 활용한 물류센터 자동화 시스템 구축이 트렌드다. 쿠팡은 지난해 3월 대구 달성군에 인공지능(AI)를 활용한 쿠팡 대구 풀필먼트센터를 구축했다. 사람이 일일이 주문 상품을 찾아 이동하는 대신 1000여 대의 무인운반로봇(AGV)이 물건을 나르고 소팅봇이 상품을 주문 배송지별로 분류해 옮기는 형태로 운영되고 있다.
다만 이들 업계에서는 코로나로 닫혔던 제조업, 서비스업 등 여러 분야의 상용직 취업문이 열리면서 임시 일자리 지원자 자체가 줄어든 점도 고용 감소에 작용했다고 분석하고 있다. 물류업계 관계자는 “비대면 시기에는 이 산업 자체가 폭발적으로 성장하고 다른 대체 일자리도 줄어들었다면 지금처럼 경기가 침체되는 시기에는 불안한 일회성 일자리보다 안정적인 상용직을 구하려고 하는 것 같다”고 말했다.
통계청에 따르면, 일용직 근로자(1개월 미만 근무)는 지난 2020년 132만8000명에서 지난해 113만2000명으로 약 15% 감소했다. 반면 같은 기간 정규직 등 상용직 근로자 수는 1452만명에서 1569만명으로 117만명(7.4%) 증가했다. 특히 지난 한 해만 80만명 이상 큰 폭으로 늘어났다. 일용직과 상용직의 사이의 고용 형태인 임시근로자(1개월~1년 근무) 수도 같은 기간 19만명 늘어난 467만8000명을 기록했다. 코로나 때 높았던 일용직 아르바이트 수요가 상용직, 임시직 등으로 몰렸다는 분석이 나온다.
지난해 출시된 ‘연대 크림빵’이 1년 만에 누적 판매량 2000만개에 달하는 등 인기를 얻자 대학 커뮤니티에서는 ‘연대 크림빵 장학금’을 받았다는 소문이 확산됐다. 그러나 연세대 측은 “크림빵과는 전혀 관련 없는 장학금”이라고 설명했다.
23일 조선일보에 따르면 연세대는 최근 소득 4분위 이하 학생들에게 생활비 명목의 장학금을 지급했다.
그러자 연세대 온라인 커뮤니티 에브리타임에는 “학교에서 갑자기 장학금이 들어왔다”며 “어제까지만 해도 단기 알바를 추가로 구하고 있었는데 장학금이 들어와 한시름 놓을 수 있게 됐다”는 글이 올라왔다.

이후 재학생들 사이에서는 "연세우유 크림빵 수익금 덕분"이라는 글이 호응을 얻었다. "작년에 연세우유 크림빵이 대박 나서 장학금 주는 거라더라", "학교에서 크림빵 장학금 돌렸다" 등 농담 섞인 추측이 제기됐다.
연세우유는 상품 홈페이지에 “연세대학교가 운영하는 비영리 학교법인으로, 수익을 모두 장학사업에 사용한다”는 내용을 홍보하고 있다. 이를 근거로 “크림빵으로 돈을 많이 벌었기 때문에 가난한 친구들에게 250만원씩 도와줄 수 있게 됐다”는 글이 설득력을 얻게 된 것이다.
이에 연대 학생들은 ‘화이팅! 연세크림빵 바이백 하셔야 하는 건 아시죠?’, ‘크림빵 많이 사 먹어야겠네’라는 댓글을 달았다.
연세우유 크림빵과 관련된 장학금으로 오인한 재학생들이 이 글을 퍼나르면서 소문은 점차 타대학 커뮤니티까지 일파만파 퍼졌다.
재학생 A씨는 “연세대 다니는데, 작년에 크림빵으로 대박 나고 4분위 이하한테 250만원씩 현금으로 꽂아줬다”며 “애초에 크림빵 사업을 장학 목적으로 했나 보다" 등의 글을 올리기도 했다.
그러나 이는 모두 사실이 아니었다. 연세대 관계자는 “장학금이 지급된 건 맞지만 크림빵과는 무관하다”며 “코로나 회복 장학금으로 지급된 것”이라고 설명했다. 이어 “연세우유의 수익금 전액이 생활비 장학금으로 사용된다는 인터넷 글도 사실과 다르다”며 “연세우유에서 하는 다양한 장학사업이 있기에 전액 장학금 지급에만 사용되는 건 아니다”라고 했다.
한편, 연세우유 크림빵은 매출 대박 행진을 이어가고 있다. 지난해 12월 연세우유 크림빵 시리즈는 출시한 지 1년도 안돼 누적 판매량 1900만개를 기록했다. 당시 CU측은 “연세우유 크림빵 시리즈가 전체 디저트 매출에서 차지하는 비중은 47.2%에 달한다며, 50여 디저트 상품 중 해당 시리즈 4가지 상품이 전체 매출의 절반을 차지하고 있는 것”이라고 전한 바 있다.
“쿠팡이 싫으면 관두지, 노조를 왜 하나요?”
지난 2일 밤 10시 경기 광주의 한 쿠팡 물류센터. 물건을 나르던 아르바이트 대학생 김모씨(23)는 노조에 가입했는지를 묻는 기자에게 정색을 하며 반문했다. 김씨는 틈날 때마다 수도권 물류센터를 돌며 하루짜리 단기 아르바이트를 해 용돈과 학비를 번다고 했다. 현행법에 따르면 아르바이트생도 노조 가입이 가능하다.그는 “노조 활동을 할 시간에 차라리 배달 앱으로 돈을 더 버는 게 효율적”이라며 “알바 앱으로 일감을 비교해 더 많이 주는 곳을 찾아다닌다”고 귀띔했다.
노조 거부하는 단기근로 생태계
현장 근로자 대다수는 김씨처럼 노조 활동에 부정적인 의견을 드러냈다. 기자가 플랫폼 노조의 실태를 파악하기 위해 최근 쿠팡물류센터에서 직접 8시간 야간 근무(오후 8시~다음날 오전 4시)한 뒤 내린 결론이다. 전국민주노동조합총연맹 쿠팡물류센터지회(민주노총 쿠팡노조)에 속한 조합원은 약 200명. 전국 97개 물류센터 직원 3만7992명의 0.52%에 불과한 비율이다. 노조가 본사 점거 등 강성 투쟁을 연출하며 존재감 확보에 안간힘을 쓴 것에 비해서는 처참한 가입률이라는 평가다.
플랫폼 현장 근로자들의 가장 특징은 독립성이다. 한 단기 근로자는 “플랫폼 기업을 평생직장으로 보는 사람은 거의 없을 것”이라며 “스마트폰 앱을 통해 잠깐 모인 뒤 헤어질 사이로만 생각하는 경우가 많다”고 했다.
근로 희망자는 ‘쿠펀치’란 앱을 통해 전국 물류센터의 일감을 찾는다. 각각의 물류센터는 저마다 필요한 구역별(입고·재고 조사·출고·허브) 인원을 파악하고, 날짜·시간별로 부족한 인력을 앱에 공개 공고한다. 이를 본 근로 희망자들이 신청하고, ‘묵묵히’ 일하다가 헤어지면 되는 식이다. 대형 선반에 쌓인 물건의 수와 종류를 살피는 재고 조사를 하는 동안 주변 동료들과 나눈 사적 대화는 거의 없었다. 일부는 무선 이어폰을 꽂은 채 일할 만큼 분위기가 자유로웠다. “지시를 하는 이도 비슷한 계약직이라서 상하관계란 생각이 잘 들지 않는다”는 게 또 다른 단기 근로자의 말이다.
배달 플랫폼 기업의 분위기도 크게 다르지 않다. 지난해 하반기 배달의민족에서 라이더를 직고용하기 위해 ‘딜리버리앤(N)’을 출범시켰지만 7개월이 지나도록 당초 목표 인원(50명)을 못 채웠다. 배달의민족 측은 “기업과 상사에게 얽매이기 싫다는 이유로 정규직 전환에 큰 관심을 보이지 않았다”고 말했다. 김성희 고려대 교수는 “플랫폼산업 종사자들은 자신의 업을 ‘계속하는 일자리’로 생각하지 않는다”고 설명했다
코로나 사태로 편의점주 등 자영업자가 힘들다고 하지만 편의점 아르바이트생 등 단기 계약직만큼은 아니다.
코로나 사태로 초단시간 근로자가 급증하는 가운데 이들 근로자를 보호해야 한다는 요구가 높아지고 있다. 이런 근로 형태가 늘고 있는 대표 업종이 바로 편의점이다.
22일 알바상담119, 강북구 편의점 아르바이트 직원 등은 북부 고용노동지청에 노동법을 위반한 강북구 편의점에 대해 특별근로감독을 요청하는 신청서를 제출했다.
강북구노동인권네트워크는 이번 강북구 지역 편의점 근로자 실태 조사로 드러난 초단시간(15시간 미만) 근로자 보호가 필요하다며 강북구 전수 조사도 요구했다.
